The Ascension System is an advanced mechanic in Paper Clipper that allows players to reset their progress in exchange for permanent bonuses. This “prestige” layer accelerates long-term progression and opens access to unique ascension upgrades.

How Ascension Works

Ascension works through your Paperclips Clipped (All Time) stat, in the Stats menu. To make ascending beneficial, you must accumulate at least 1 Trillion paperclips between your "runs". A run is considered from the time you start from scratch, and the time you press the Ascend button, resetting your progress. Ascending is only beneficial if and only if, there is a number great than zero, on the ascension progress bar.

Ascension Progress Bar

The ascension progress bar is your way of knowing your current status of ascending in your current run. The left-most number on this bar is the amount of Heavenly Clips you will gain from ascending. This will be the currency you use to purchase ascension upgrades. The middle number is the progress towards gaining another Heavenly Clip on the left number counter. Each time you complete the progress bar, you gain +1 Heavenly Clips to the counter on the left. Ascending will reset the counter on the left. The right-most number is how many more paperclips you need to earn to complete the progress bar, earning +1 Heavenly Clips to the counter on the left.

Ascensions Stat

The Ascensions stat can be viewed through the Stats menu. This stat can also be viewed through the PPS Breakdown question mark. It will tell your that each ascension level you have grants you a percentage bonus to your pps. If you have 100 ascensions, you will gain a +100% multiplier to your pps, essentially doubling it.

Heavenly Clips

Heavenly Clips are a permanent currency that persist between your runs. They are spent only in the Ascension Tree and are used to unlock permanent upgrades that can give you various bonuses. These range from production bonuses, minigame bonuses, unlockable features, and completely resetting your game progress through the Transcension system.

• Production Multiplier – All buildings produce faster in future runs.
• Heavenly Clips – Currency for purchasing ascension upgrades.
• Unlockables – Certain in-game features and hidden mechanics require ascension.
• Global Multiplier – Each Heavenly Clip earned, contributes to an Ascensions counter which adds a multiplier to your pps in percents
